Training Scholarships:
2009 PAR Convention The PAR Convention provides a valuable training program for staff development and to increase morale. Participants of the conventions may choose from dozens of sessions at each year's annual event, providing the opportunity for attendees to receive an estimated 20+ contact hours of training. Many agencies plan on the annual PAR Convention as a cornerstone of their staff development plan and send large groups of their staff for training. PAR encourages all agencies across the entire state of Ohio that are involved in MRDD to have as many staff members as possible to attend the convention by providing discounts for group registrations. In addition to training, convention attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with staff members from other agencies who attend the conference from all parts of Ohio. A sense of camaraderie and linkage is key to the development of a professional identity.
Staff members always return from the
annual PAR Convention with a new sense of purpose and excitement for
their work. |

Keynote Speaker Taking Initiative: The Power Within Every employee has the potential to be great. Bob reveals the secrets of taking the breaks off your organization and unleashing the potential within. In this workshop, Bob will discuss strategies for change, how you can get in the game and make a difference in your sphere of influence. As a friend and associate of Harry Paul’s, Bob will continue our journey with the FISH! Philosophy by discussing how you can implement the principles of FISH! on a personal and daily basis as well as why you shouldn’t “wait” for your organization to begin implementing FISH!. He will discuss how you can “manage up” and sell your ideas above you in the organization and predict and overcome obstacles that are likely to get in your way. He will focus on the small things that you can do to start to make a BIG difference in your workplace as well as strategies for “keeping your commitment to your commitment” once you are back at work. You will leave this session with a practical plan and techniques for immediate implementation back on your job. |
