Presenters: Pat Stephens - Director Community Supports and Steve Mentrek, Community Supports Coordinator, both associated with the Human Trafficking Coalition
This training will educate people on current legislation, The Safe Harbor Act and the In Demand Act. The speakers will share powerful stories of people who have experienced human trafficking, how we can recognize the signs that this is occurring and how to support someone if they are experiencing human trafficking. Attendees will take away a better understanding of what human trafficking is and the prevalence that is occurring in the developmental disabilities population, as well as the general population. A new fact sheet has been developed by the coalition in conjunction with DODD, which will be shared. A palm card with facts can be shared with Service and Support Administrators, other DD professionals, and law enforcement in your area.

*6 hours of DODD certification is approved for Adult Services/Day Habilitation, Investigative Agent, Service & Support Administration, Superintendent, and County Board Members. Early Intervention is NOT approved.
*6 hours of Social Work certification is pending approved.
