Benefits and Employment in 2017- Medicaid, Medicare,  Social  Security,  and  SSI

Cleveland ~ Thursday, March 30, 2017

Presenter: Michael Walling

The workshop will cover how earned and unearned income affects a beneficiary’s entitlement to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB), and recipient’s eligibility to Supplemental Security Income (SSI).  Participants will learn how Medicare is protect for, at least, 8.5 years after a SSDI beneficiary goes to work and how an SSI recipient can earn up to $38,509 and still be eligible for free Medicaid.

The workshop will provide numerous ways to reduce how much income Social Security counts and demonstrate how people can use their wage and/or monthly benefit payment to achieve their occupational goal, while protecting their medical benefits.

The workshop will also address the changes in medical criteria (effective January 17, 2017) to qualify for benefits and remain entitled/eligible to a Social Security benefit program.
