Session 1 - 9:00 to 9:45 am    
Medication Administration
Presenter: Janet Winterstein, RN (Columbus) and Linda Donchess, RN (Cleveland)
Medication Administration Rule Changes effective November 6, 2017; New medication and healthcare authorizations for unlicensed personnel that will impact service plans and quality assessments

Session 2 - 9:45 to 10:45 am  
Delegated Nursing
Presenter: Donna Patterson, RN, BSN
Waiver Nursing Delegation Rule Changes effective January 4, 2018; Definition of waiver nursing delegation, activities that can be delegated, and requirements that will impact service plans and quality assessments.

Session 3 - 11:00 am to 12:15 pm 
Participant-directed Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) 
Presenter: Lori Horvath, Deputy Director
HPC services available in the Level One, SELF, and Individual Options Waivers effective February 1, 2018; Overview of who is eligible to receive and provide the service and how it differs from traditional HPC        

Session 4 - 1:00 - 2:00 pm
Assistive Technology and Remote Supports
Presenters: Kyle Corbin, Services Development Manager, Jordan Wagner, Program Coordinator, and Marc Tasse, Director
The role of Remote Monitoring and Assistive Technology within the DD population. The focus is on multiple resources and training materials to help identify individuals that could benefit from increased technology and the upcoming Assistive Technology rule. 

Session 5 - 2:00 to 3:00 pm 
Waiting List
Presenter: Lori Horvath, Deputy Director
Waiting List rule changes that are proposed and timeline for effective date; will also focus on the changes to the new tool and date of potential implementation. This session will provide information regarding the proposed changes to operation of the waiting list for home and community based service waivers. Participants will hear the rationale behind the proposed changes, learn how the new process differs from the existing waiting list operation, and understand the proposed implementation timeline.

Session - 6 - 3:15 - 4:15 pm 
MUI Rule Review
Presenters: Scott Phillips, Assistant Deputy Director and Connie McLaughlin, Regional Manager Supervisor
This interactive training session will include a summary review of Ohio’s Health and Welfare incident reporting system involving Major Unusual Incidents (MUI’s). Statewide data will be reviewed including analysis of MUI categories. The analysis will address cause and contributing factor identification along with pattern and trend discussions. In addition, Ohio’s Administrative Code 5123:2-17-02 (MUI Rule) has recently gone through the 5-year review process. Discussion of the stakeholder group recommendations and subsequent changes to the rule will be highlighted in this session.

6 hours of DODD certification is approved for Adult Services/Day Habilitation, Service & Support Administration, Superintendent, and County Board Member.

1 hour of Investigative Agent is approved.

Early Intervention is NOT approved.

6 hours of Social Worker, Counselor and Marriage & Family Therapist certification is pending.

You must attend the entire training to receive certification.
